SCIENCE TEACHER BIOLOGY 

    JOB DESCRIPTION  

  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction 
  • Prepare UOIs( Lesson Plans) that are engaging and encourage inquiry and student led learning
  • Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations, and maintain records
  • Supervise students' laboratory work.
  •  Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled school hours 
  • Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and planning issues
  • Lead  School Science Activities and bring in innovative ideas
  • Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with departmental matters  and academic issues.
  • Perform administrative duties such as serving as department head
  • Act as adviser to student Houses, Clubs  and Societies
  • Participate in School  and community events.

Teacher Profile

  • Postgraduate in Biology
  • Bachelor’s degree in Teaching or relevant field.
  • A minimum of  5 years of  experience  as a Secondary /Senior Secondary Science Teacher.
  • In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
