JOB DESCRIPTION
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction
- Prepare UOIs( Lesson Plans) that are engaging and encourage inquiry and student led learning
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations, and maintain records
- Supervise students' laboratory work.
- Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
- Maintain regularly scheduled school hours
- Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues
- Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and planning issues
- Lead School Science Activities and bring in innovative ideas
- Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with departmental matters and academic issues.
- Perform administrative duties such as serving as department head
- Act as adviser to student Houses, Clubs and Societies
- Participate in School and community events.
Teacher Profile
- Postgraduate in Biology
- Bachelor’s degree in Teaching or relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Secondary /Senior Secondary Science Teacher.
- In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
