STUDENT COUNCIL

A leader is not only a dealer in hope but also a visionary, a dreamer, an innovator, a mentor, an educator, an effective communicator, and a facilitator.

Every year, the newly elected student council dons the mantle of leadership in the Investiture ceremony and takes a pledge to lead the school from the front with their commitment, confidence, and competence. The Investiture ceremony for Grades IV to XII is not just a formal announcement of giving away the portfolios and responsibilities to the newly elected school council but also the belief that these young and passionate leaders would influence and inspire their peers to create more leaders. The selection of these students is based on their academic performance, creative abilities, and assessment of their overall conduct, where they were marked for their organizational and leadership skills.

The thought expressed in the quote above would be an apt inspiration to introduce the four houses at DPSG, Faridabad after the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Cauvery. Students are grouped into these three houses to empower them with the responsibility for their own journey. Within the unity of the house , each student explores their own identity and adds diversity to this association.

Just like each river flows on its unique journey of discovering new realms but become one in their confluence with the ocean, so too, do the members of the four houses, imbibe the distinctive qualities of their houses while they collaborate and compete , upholding the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, to move towards the common goal of the school ethos . Competition is very good. As long as it is healthy. It is what makes one strive for the better.

House system plays a vital role in the scheme of education environed by DPSG Faridabad. The school has always believed in instilling a spirit of healthy competition among the students by engaging them in different inter-house activities and events. This enables every student to become an integral part of the school and develop a zeal in them to contribute. The house system strives to achieve their goals by providing a secure and positive social environment where each student feels valued and respected.

The Houses are formed with a purpose of instilling a spirit of teamwork and unity among the students along with providing them a platform to showcase and hone their talent in different fields. House meetings are held on monthly basis where the students come together and discuss about the upcoming events and activities.

  STUDENT LEADERSHIP SYSTEM
  

  SELECTION PROCESS

  • The candidates apply through a proforma for a leadership position submitted to their Class Teacher. 
  • The Class Teachers give recommendations to the respective House Mentors for the positions applied by the students. 
  • For each position, an interview is conducted by the respective House Mentor and the Wing Coordinator. 
  • The top two candidates for each position have an interaction with the Principal for the final selection and appointment.

  INVESTITURE CEREMONY

  The Investiture Ceremony is conducted for the official introduction of the newly appointed student council to the entire school. The ceremony begins with a pledge of the council to provide sincere & diligent leadership and commitment in leading the school in all forthcoming events. The young leaders take an oath to carry forward the legacy of their seniors and keep the DPSG flag always flying high. 

  LEADERSHIP TRAINING

  The leadership training is conducted for the newly appointed student council to boost their confidence and enthusiasm so that they are ready to shoulder the upcoming responsibilities. This training, through the mentors, is extremely helpful in developing time management skills, life skills, teamwork and collaboration, in addition to leadership skills of the young leaders.  A sense of values & fair play is encouraged within our school student leadership team.
