Our focus is to strengthen their abilities, build self-belief, and provide them with the right opportunities to demonstrate leadership at the school level, preparing them for the world ahead.

Our Student Council is one such platform that identifies emerging leaders within our student community and inspires them to lead with purpose, responsibility and integrity. It is a formal body of elected student representatives who play a pivotal role in school leadership and governance. It is designed to promote student voice, leadership development, and a sense of responsibility among students.

Student Council Selection Process

The procedure of student council elections is as follows:

• Step 1: Orientation - Familiarizes students with roles, rules, and responsibilities, ensuring fair and informed participation in elections.
• Step 2: Self-nomination - Lets eligible students apply and present themselves as candidates.
• Step 3: Campaigning - Candidates share their ideas and goals with the student body respectfully.
• Step 4: Interview - Assesses candidates' leadership, suitability, and sense of responsibility.
• Step 5: Nomination declaration - Official announcement of shortlisted candidates for various posts.
• Step 6: Voting - Students elect their preferred candidates for leadership roles.

Student Council Leadership Program (SCLP)

The Student Council Leadership Programme (SCLP) is conducted for the newly appointed members of the student council to boost their confidence and enthusiasm so that they are ready to shoulder the upcoming responsibilities. This training, through the mentors, is extremely helpful in developing time management skills, life skills, teamwork and collaboration, in addition to leadership skills of the young leaders.

Investiture Ceremony

The DPSG Investiture Ceremony is a prestigious event celebrating the achievements of our student leaders and academic achievers. It recognizes their excellence across academic, co-curricular, and leadership domains while emphasizing responsibility, dedication, and holistic growth. The ceremony serves as an inspiration for the entire school community, reinforcing the values of resilience, leadership, and commitment to excellence.
