DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL GHAZIABAD proudly presented “Starzfest” on

‘Snow white and the seven dwarfs’. Students confidently performed on the stage in colourful dresses. They were looking vibrant. Parents were mesmerized to see their little children independently performing on the stage. It was indeed a phenomenal show.

DPSG organised in it’s premises , a cultural extravaganza, themed on a fantasy story “The Nutcracker”. The chief guest of the show Mrs Asha Sharma, Mayor Ghaziabad graced the occasion by lighting of the lamp.

The event began with a welcome song and was followed by an enthralling performance by the super stars of class I and II.

The parents were mesmerised to watch the kids as they weaved the story through their enactment and amazing dance performances.

At the end Dr. Jyoti Gupta, Principal DPSG expressed her happiness and appreciated students and teachers for putting up such a spectacular show.

 Delhi Public School Ghaziabad proudly presented ‘Starzfest’ on  ' How a rainbow forms ' through  performing art .Students came on the stage with confidence and zeal. They all were in colourful dresses and danced to show the culmination of the rainbow. Parents were enthralled to see their little children independently performing on the stage. It was indeed a treat to the eyes and a phenomenal success.

Tiny tots of DPSG celebrated the festival of Christmas with great fervor. Beautifully decorated classes added to the festive spirit. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children.

Christmas brings cheer and love, and DPSG started the celebration with the same fervour spreading the message of joy and love among children. ‘Farm to Fork’ project, as a part of experimental learning was evident when Grade 1 students set up a mock market. All participated enthusiastically as students put up farm and factory products.  This activity was conducted under the UOI- HOW THE WORLD WORKS. The idea behind conducting this activity was to bring in an awareness amongst the students about the depletion of the Farm products and the problems faced by the Farmers of the country. Some teachers displayed the vegetable market, selling the basic vegetables and needs showing the Farm products. While the other side was being displayed as a departmental store selling the Factory products.

 

Kitchen Activity: Fruit salad

Early childhood is an important time to establish healthy eating habits as it provides children with the nutrients they need to grow, to inculcate good eating habits and making healthy food choices, the fireless cooking session was done by students of class Prep. Students enjoyed their day preparing fruit salad with the help of a teacher.


Diwali is the festival of lights. It was celebrated with a lot of pomp and show in Delhi Public School Ghaziabad. It started with the ‘Food Fiesta’ where children enjoyed traditional food. Children made lanterns, decorated Diya’s and Rangoli . A special assembly “Aaya Roshni Ka Tyohaar” was conducted by class Prep (STARZ WING) in which they enacted five days mythological stories of Diwali. A beautiful message of cracker free and ecofriendly Diwali was given by the children.

With the festival  round the corner, keeping up with the celebratory  zeal , parents of Grade 1 DPSG, participated enthusiastically in the Kandil Making and Bandhanwar Decoration Interclass Competition along with their wards. Their innovative ideas and creativity were worth appreciation.

Stories are a world where a dream becomes reality, life becomes a tale of morality and characters become a way out of ennui. DPSG , MEERUT ROAD conducted a story telling   session by the students of grade I students to imbibe the right values , learning , skills .etc. in their annual solo stage performance ‘ Tell –a- Tale’ . Brightening the  day  of the  parents the   students  conducted a story  session  where life and  expression was in abundance .

The season is replete with festive gaiety and fervour. Embracing this, the young zealots of Grade 2 gave a power packed performance in their Dussehra Assembly. 

They thoroughly entertained all with enactment of the Ramayana scene with lyrical melody. The symbolic significance of Dussehra was well taken by the young spectators, which is The victory of good over evil. The audience was mesmerised with the well rehearsed and synchronised performance.

DPSG believes in building a strong cultural belief and value system in its students. In this endeavour, with fervour of Navratri and Dussehra celebration in the air the parents of pre nursery along with their wards were involved in the Doll decoration event. There was great enthusiasm amongst the parents as it took them back to their childhood days of dressing up and decorating the dolls and their creativity was evident in their work.

GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

On Gandhiji’s 150th birth anniversary students of class I-G commentated a special class assembly. It was celebrated one day prior on 1st October 2019 with great zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism.

Students showcased Bapuji’s teachings and values of truth, commitment towards nonviolence, honesty, simplicity, patience and equality through a captivating role play and presentation.

To end the celebrations students enthrall the audience with foot tapping dance on ‘Bapu tujhe kahun mein baba’.


Twinkling lites of grade 2 were up on the stage for their much awaited Solo Stage Performance. It is an important learning engagement in building confidence, concentration, coordination and none the less Communication of the individuals. It encourages the learners to explore their unique expressiveness and heightens their ability to communicate thoughts and feelings. It is undoubtedly an important tool to expand their creativity and imagination.
The learners came dressed up as different community helpers and shared their importance, role and responsibilities. It was a delightful moment for all parents to watch their child perform with grit and confidence.

The creativity and thinking skills were at its best when our tiny tots of pre nursery prepared Vegetable Cheese Sandwiches under the guidance of their teachers. It also enhanced their eye hand coordination and ability to follow instructions.

Biscuit fun activity

Kids love to try out new things at any given time. Students of class prep prepared an easy and fun treat of cheesy Monaco bite. It helped our little ones to gain a sense of accomplishment through experiential learning.


A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. To give exposure of fireless cooking, tiny tots of Class Nursery have done sprout's chaat activity. It encourages children to be self directed and independent and it helps to develop taste of different foods at an early age.

Our young enthusiastic learners of grade 2 took up some brave S.T.E.A.M projects on the theme ‘Water’.
The curious minds inquired and explored through experiments. Some interesting projects like- earthen water purifier, water clock, water wheel, walking water, water cycle, rain water harvesting and so on were very elaborately presented by them. Their keen observations, methodical recordings and confident expressions stole the hearts of our esteemed judges.

This interhouse Steam competition was a wonderful experience for the entire class 2 team of both learners and facilitators.


Stage Performance not only enhances skills for the stage but for life. The self-confidence, poise and self-awareness which the children develop, lasts even after the performance.

Brimming with the spirit of cleanliness under Swachh Bharat Abhigyan, class 2 learners performed a Nukkad Natak ( a street play) to inspire all their friends to inculcate good habits.

The Children of Pre-Nursery had banana peeling activity. They all peeled banana on their own.  All the kids enjoyed the activity. They were make to understand that banana is healthy for us. They carried a message that fruits are healthy for us.


Independence Day and Rakhi celebration

"Children of DPSG STARZ celebrated Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. They all came dressed in Tricolours and presented mesmerizing dance performances highlighting patriotism. To celebrate the bond of love and affection they tied Rakhee to each other. Some children also spoke about the importance of both the festivals. By this celebration, they understood the concept of festivity and patriotism. Celebrating festivals connect them with the community and bring deeper meanings to their lives."


RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION

 A pinch of traditional gaiety was added to the spirit of Rakshabandhan celebration with interhouse soan / saloon / rakhi making competition for class 1 & 2 on 8.8.19. This competition provided the young participants an opportunity to exhibit their artistic abilities along with creative skills.

The children of Pre-Nursery had a sprouts making activity. They all mixed their sprouts in a large bowl and added chat masala to make it yummy. All the kids enjoyed the tangy sprouts mix. They were make to understand that sprouts are healthy food. They carried a message that sprouts are healthy tasty to eat.

GRANDPARENTS DAY CELEBRATION

 “Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonder full stories and love to recall our childhood.”

 Nursery class organized Grandparents day in Starz wing with lot of enthusiasm and fervour. A cultural show was organized on this occasion by the students of class nursery. Enthusiastic grandparents participated in flame less cooking. The show was grand as the grandparents participated wholeheartedly with their creative presentation and dishes.

 

 RED COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION

 The 'Red colour’ Day celebration was a wonderful learning engagement for  pre nursery kids which helped them to understand the concept of primary colours. To mark this day very special teachers and students came dressed in beautiful red colour attires. The classes were decorated with red colour balloons. Students actively participated in ‘Show and Tell’ activity. Each one of them got an opportunity to speak about their favourite red colour object. After that they had palm printing activity. Every one enjoyed colouring and printing their own hands.

 

MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATION

Pre Nursery celebrated Mother’s Day with full gaiety and fervor. The young mother’s of Pre -Nursery came  beautifully dressed  to participate in the event which started with a foot tapping welcome dance by grade 1 students. The spirits went high when they participated whole heartedly with their tiny tots during Ramp walk, Fireless cooking, Story- telling and T-shirt printing. To add a little colour to it, mother and child participated together in hand printing activity . Selfie corner made the event brighter with all their smiles as they got clicked together. At the end the little cherubs gave handmade mementoes to their mother’s and thanked them for their unconditional love and care. 


ROLE PLAY ACTIVITY

Role play activity is a fun loving interesting activity where learners use their imagination, express ideas and build an understanding of their own about a theme.
The students of class Prep displayed their creativity and communication skills through a role play activity on community places wherein they dressed up and talked about letter box, post office, banks, ATM, supermarket, doctors and many more.

MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS

Starz Wing celebrated May Day with full excitement. To inculcate the value of respect among the little ones a small token of appreciation was given to the support staff for their commitment and hard work.


ASK AN EXPERT

Class Nursery organized an activity “Ask an Expert”  where grandparents were invited to have an interactive session on family values, bonding and responsibilities. It was a great learning experience for our tiny tots as they discussed about their childhood and engaged them in fruitful conversation throughout the discussion.


BISCUIT FUN

Nursery cherubs  have a fun time decorating biscuits with cheese slice and toppings. It helped in enhancing their fine motor skills while they relished eating and sharing them with their peers.


ZOO VISIT

Class prep had a lifetime experience during their visit to the zoo. It gave our tiny tots a deep insight and understanding of how to take care of our environment as it has a significant impact on the lives and welfare of animals. It also helped them to learn about the importance of conservation and animal care.


EARTH DAY

Starz wing celebrated Earth Day with lot of zeal and zest. The tiny warriors walked down the corridors with colourful banners and the whole corridor echoed with the sound of their slogans “Save Earth, Save Water, Save Animals, Save Trees, Save Electricity. A special assembly was conducted to mark the event where students were sensitized to save the environment and animals going extinct. Students came dressed up in all shades of green with their beautiful headgears. The young minds were able to understand the concept of REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE.

‘’I am a little star, shinning bright, growing bigger every night. When I finish pre-primary, I will shout I am a star, so you better watch out’’.

It was a very special day as our kindergartner’s graduate to grade I. Prep children presented a spectacular show showcasing their leadership and life skills. Parents were mesmerized to see their foot tapping performances. It was a heart filled moment to see them marching with their graduation caps with pride.

DIWALI

Diwali was celebrated in the Starz wing with elation and contentment. Children came dressed in alluring attire and joined the devotedness of the festival by adorning and worshiping Goddess Laxmi.

 

BANDHANWAR

 

To soar the festive spirit and bountiful zeal, parents of class Prep participated enthusiastically in a Bandhanwar making competition on Diwali. Parents along with their children made beautiful bandhanwar using waste and recycled material. Creativity was in the air and the glittering bandhanwar gleemed all around the ambience of STARZ wing.

 

FOOD FIESTA

 

To pep up the festive mood a potluck lunch was organized by STARZ wing. It was a great learning experience as they learn that food is the essence of celebration and we should never waste food. Children  enjoyed eating delicious food under one roof.

 

DUSSHERA CELEBRATION

 

The little cherubs of Starz wing celebrated Dusshera with full zest and excitement. A special assembly was conducted where our endearing little tiny tots were informed about the significance of this festival and effigy of Ravana was burnt to tell them how  “Good always wins over evil”

 

ROLE PLAY ACTIVITY ON “ SRI RAMANYA”

 

The students of class Nursery presented a role play based on the characters of “Sri Ramanaya”. They came dressed in their favourite character like Hanuman ji, Sita ji, Lakshman ji, Shabri, Dashrath, Ravana and many more.  Each one of them spoke few lines on the role they played. This activity made children aware of the religious and cultural significance of the festivals like Dusshera and Diwali. Teachings and character of “ Sri Ramanya” inculcated values like victory of goddness over evil, light over darkness and happiness over gloom.
