DPSGI believes in forging lifelong bonds with all students.
Our Alumni are as much a part of our school as our students and are encouraged to return to their Alma mater as guests for celebrations and events. The Alumni Blog is our effort to provide a platform to our alumni to share their views and remain connected to their school. The first blog in this series has been written by Kavneesh Kaur, the Head Girl of our first pass out batch.
My life has been a roller coaster ride to where I am now in a leadership position, but what has stayed constant is my drive and attitude throughout. It all started with a few minor assignments, presentations, and a single inquiry: "Does it make you happy?" That simple question made me realize my passion for marketing and fascination with how firms operate. It was then, during my second year at Delhi University, that I realized how interesting the world of marketing was for me, and it motivated me to work hard and diligently towards getting into an MBA college and taking the next step.
All of the suffering and joy during my two years at FORE paid off when I was given the opportunity to enter my dream world of pursuing my passion by being chosen for a position at Moolchand Healthcare. It holds all the anxieties and cheers that helped me seek patience and compassion in life, from the time I was passionately playing basketball at school to being the first batch's School Topper. I'll be eternally grateful to all of my school mentors who encouraged me to aspire high and accomplish high at every turn. Consider how much time you spent in those classrooms, on those grounds, and how much fun you had. My motto and the only advice is to ‘NEVER REGRET’ Every next level of your life will require a next level you.

SHORT-TERM GOALS IS MY NEW NORMAL
“What are your long term goals?” – Someone asked me.
In these initial stages of my work life, I often stumble across this question and ask myself ‘Is this normal? Is it okay to not being able to find a long-term goal right in the beginning of your career?
My life today has been a series of short-term decisions I took over the years. And if anybody asks me did it work for me well? It absolutely did!
My motto in life is to believe in what I am doing and doing it in the best possible way. It is your interest that matters. My business studies faculty in class XI pushed me for a Finance related project, and it was at that point I realized how fascinated I am with this topic. This interest allowed me to pursue Economics for my graduation. Only after the completion of my 3rd year, I realized that I wanted more and decided to do MBA, I prepared in those 6 months and took admission at XIMB. My perseverance in those 2yrs of MBA paid off as I got selected at MSCI as a Product Specialist. The corporate life is a brand new experience for me, and I am enjoying every bit of it. It has its own challenges and difficulties, but when you truly make your mind about something and work hard towards it, you will always finish it in style!
You don’t have to pressurize yourself thinking what your life will look like 5yrs or 10yrs down the lane. You have to keep following what you think is best for you and these goals will automatically fall in that track. Grab every opportunity that comes your way, even if it means altering your plans more often than you expected.
The world is constantly changing around you.
So yes, this is my new normal! These short term goals will help me build a successful and happy life for myself.
