Leadership Camp

Leadership training provides students with the tools, knowledge and ability to impact and inspire their followers. Leadership programs provide the opportunity for them to sharpen their skills and share their experiences with confidence and ease.

” Leadership camps improve not only the manners and behavior, but also personal morale, appearance, and confidence they are a great way to gain skills necessary for dealing with real-life situations. The students acquire enhanced teamwork abilities and various life skill sessions on Time Management, Decision Making, SWOT Analysis, Moral Values and Etiquettes, Framing a Code of Conduct etc. Their training under the guidance of teachers and professionals aims to inculcate managerial and organizational skills, problem solving and communication skills. Above all, they are trained to bring out the best within themselves as human beings, to work in teams and to demonstrate exemplary behaviour.


CAMP DETAILS

LEADERSHIP CAMP AT McLeod Ganj 18-19

53 students of DPSG international spent 4 days in the pristine and peaceful environs of McLeod Ganjas they developed their leadership skills and enhanced teamwork abilities under the guidance of instructors and trainer. The students went on long treks and attended leadership and personal effectiveness sessions. They also visited the Dalai Lama monastery – seat of the Tibetan Government in exile. A visit to the Palampur Tea factory and the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium was also a part of their itinerary. They returned enriched with the experience ready to put their newly learnt skills to test.


LEADERSHIP TRAINING:

The camp included various team building and planning activities conducted under the able guidance of skilled instructors and coordinators. Various life skill sessions on Time Management, Decision Making, SWOT Analysis, Moral Values and Etiquettes, framing a Code of Conduct etc. are also conducted. The students stay at the chosen camp site under the supervision of the faculty eating sleeping, enjoying and interacting with each other and learning basic life skills. These sessions bring out their latent talents and help in their grooming.


CAVING PARADISE NAINITAL 19-20

Nature keeps us grounded; Obstacles make us perseverant; Adventure makes us tough.

Students of class X – XII got an opportunity to test their skills at the adventure camp organized at Caving paradise Nainital in collaboration with Rock sport. 44 students accompanied by 4 teachers explored natural caves of Nainital and tested their teamwork skills during camp games and night treks.

The students also got a chance to observe nature and at its pristine best in the jungle camp. The students came back refreshed and highly charged after the three-day camp during which they also participated in activities like Zipline, Burma Bridge, Guerrilla warfare, caving and air hoopie.


OUTCOMES

  • Students develop a comprehensive set of practical skills and tools to rely on through leadership practice. Such skills and tools include time management, meeting management and agenda setting, group dynamics, and team building.
  • Students learn how to communicate effectively (using written and spoken word, non-verbal language, electronic tools, and listening skills) to develop relationships, manage conflicts, and work across differences.
  • Students learn the skills to engage in conflict productively and work toward conflict resolution.
  • Students develop an understanding of change processes and be able to think critically about obstacles to change.
  • Students understand and are able to use a process for decision making.
  • Students are able to integrate their experiences into their leadership development process.
  • Students learn to act out of humanitarian values, such as being committed to social justice, engaging in social responsibility, and serving as positive social change agents.
  • Students learn to practice team leadership through active group participation.
  • Students examine their own and others' intrinsic and extrinsic motivations as leaders.
  • Students learn how to use their minds, their hearts, their voices, and their ears to constructively engage and collaborate with others.
  • Students develop a sense of confidence and belief in themselves and their ideas. Their confidence will allow them to be challenged without feeling minimized and to embrace ambiguity.
