Strategic Planning and Road Map Ahead

DPSGI has been persistently conducting very enriching, informative and interactive career guidance and counselling sessions right from the onset of the new session in an earnest endeavour to guide and support children, to keep up their upbeat spirit in these uncertain times and help them understand and act on what they ought to act upon.

The school conducted a very informative and empowering session on the topic ‘Strategic Planning and Road Map Ahead’ on 26 May, 2021 for the students of class XII. The session was conducted by Mr. Prikshit Dhanda an alumnus from Harvard University and the Chief Strategy officer and renowned life & Career Coach at Mindler. To begin with a warm welcome was extended to the Resource Person and Ms Vaishnavi- a representative from Mindler.

Mr Dhanda initiated the much-needed interaction by wanting to know from students on Four to Five things they feel they are supposed to accomplish this year. Based on very interesting inputs shared by students, very systematically, he dwelt upon four crucial areas they need to focus and work upon immediately. He elaborated on how absolute clarity in Goal Setting is the crux of the whole matter. Breaking this idea into parts, he emphasised on how students need to ensure that they get admission in good colleges and institutions of their choice next year, they must secure good marks in their CBSE Board Examination, they will have to crack the Entrance Exams as applicable, they need to successfully clear the Aptitude Tests and be ready with their Profile Analysis for Profile Based admission.

With razor sharp precision he detailed upon the strategies children should use to accomplish these goals. The highlights were, the importance of taking Internal Examination conducted by the school seriously and performing well in them, time management in preparing for Entrance Exams vs CBSE Board Examination, clarity on the path to be taken for preparations and college admissions, strategies to strike the right balance between CBSE and Entrance exams and ways to ensure Physical, Mental and Emotional well-being of students.

He guided the students to take the Career Assessment offered by Mindler before 30 June, 2021 and utilize each and every feature offered by Mindler be it Entrance Exam Tracker, Scholarship and Financial Aid or online Practice Material available. This was followed by a very vibrant Question- Answer session wherein the queries put up by the students were comprehensively answered by Ms Dhanda.

The world may be fraught with unprecedented consequences due to the pandemic but DPSGI has been relentlessly supporting, guiding, empowering and creating best of opportunities for its students so that they can tide over these trying times and emerge as champions in the times to come. Regular Career Counselling sessions by the best of Resource persons in Mindler have gone a long way in helping students make informed career choices, deciding on strategies to follow their dreams and most importantly in exploring their innate strengths and building on them persistently.

Keeping in mind the needs of students of class XII (2020-21), whose CBSE Board exam and other national level entrance exams got postponed, the school conducted an invaluable session titled ‘How to utilise the next few months’ on 19 May’21 at 11 am in the online mode. Mr Prikshit Dhanda, a leading Life Coach and Motivational Speaker, professionally trained by Harvard University was the resource person. Ms Vaishnavi Chadda also a professional from Mindler was a part of the session.

The session commenced with a warm welcome extended by the school Principal Ms Meera Mathur to the Resource persons and the students. She emphasized on how difficult the year has been for all students but particularly for this batch it being the last year of their schooling where life had to be all happening and vibrant in the lush green school play fields and classrooms. The school has done a commendable job in keeping them motivated and yet it is time again to dust off the cobwebs and get going in these critical times since the most crucial task for them to get the best of admissions to colleges still remains.
