The DPSGI library provides a wide range of books to encourages and empower teaching and learning for all members of the school. Our library collection includes 10,000 books, digital media content, e- books, photographs and videos of school programs, updated, curriculum, national and International magazines and journals.
Our library management system provides students and staff access to the library resources online. All the transactions which include book issue, return, payment of fine can be done by this system only. The entire collection of books is classified and shelved by DDC 19 Edition an International standard classification method. The seating capacity of the school library is 65 students at a time.
The library is divided into two parts:
1) Senior library
2) IB library
- Senior library: The Senior library consists of 6,000 books which are divided into two parts fiction and non-fiction. Fiction are further divided by their author's surname arranged in alphabetical order. The Non-fiction collection is divided subject wise as per their class number. There is a separate section for text and reference books for all classes arranged subject wise. The Library consists of books of different languages such as Hindi, English, Japanese, French, Spanish. Sanskrit, Punjabi etc.
- IB library: The IB library was established in 2016 for classes Pre-Nursery to class V. the IB library is a colourful and vibrant space to appeal to young minds. It consists 4000 books which includes colourful story books, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, graded reader and touch and feel books. Primary wing library also has a quiet story telling corner with a comfortable seating arrangement specially designed for young kids. Here, teachers conduct different activities for students such as storytelling with props, puppet show, bookmark making, book review writing, characters sketch, quotation writing etc.
