The pre-primary and primary classes follow the IBPYP-Primary Years Program, based on inquiry and concepts that help develop IB Learner Profile. Grades 6 to 12 follow an integrated CBSE curriculum, wherein the academic plan is covered through Units of Inquiry, which have concepts, skills and technology embedded in them to create a body of knowledge that is contextual in the real world.. Students are encouraged to drive their own learning through Community Connect programs and project-based learning modules. Primary School
DPSG Palam Vihar is a candidate school for IB PYP. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme is a curriculum framework designed for students aged 3 to 12.The PYP transdisciplinary framework focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both at school and beyond. Informed by research into how students learn, how educators teach, and the principles and practice of effective assessment, the programme places a powerful emphasis on inquiry-based learning. It aims to develop students’ academic, social and emotional wellbeing, focusing on international-mindedness and strong personal values. The PYP nurtures independent learning skills, encouraging every student to take responsibility for their learning. The Middle School comprises of grades 6 to 10 and prepares the students to appear for CBSE exams at the end of grade 10 successfully. Every faculty member engages in research and discussions in PLCs- Professional Learning Communities twice a month and are empowered to take initiatives, shoulder additional responsibilities and develop the leader within. Our team (comprises of 110 faculty members) embodies 21st century skills and are lifelong learners in the quest of the best educational pedagogies and practices to create student(nearly 1645) lead classrooms where learning is a two way process and interconnectedness of knowledge is the goal.
Professional Learning Community
All teachers of DPSGS schools across the country are a part of a PLC, which are further divided subject wise. This is a platform for teachers to explore their present understanding, share their thoughts, seek peer advice and work on their personal effectiveness as a facilitator and mentor. The shared knowledge of the group transcends into an enriched personal knowledge .
The members meet twice a month on a digital platform to share their expertise towards creating an enriched curriculum through research on pedagogy and practices. The group works to create shared resource bank and assessments.As teachers, each member is expected to research in a focussed manner on areas that have a bearing on their students and range from positive engagement in classroom to inquiry based learning to assessments.
