Delhi Public School Ghaziabad hosted an Inter School Mega Event SANGAM- A Multitude of Languages 2019-20 Competition-cum-Fest on May 4, 2019. Twelve schools from Ghaziabad participated in different competitions held in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Spanish and Sanskrit. Various events like Ramp walk (Sub- Junior Group), Umbrella Painting (Junior Group) and Quiz Competition (Senior Group) were held. The competition for Sanskrit language was Ramp walk for Sub- Junior Group and Shlok Gayan for the remaining 2 categories. The competitions highlighted the efforts made by each school which was evident in the quality of presentations and participation of students. This event provided an opportunity to the students to explore and unleash their latent talents.

The Delhi Public School Ghaziabad Society was conceived, founded and promoted by Mr. Om Pathak, IAS, the then District Magistrate of Ghaziabad with support from Delhi Public School Society presided over by Sh. Dharamvira, ICS and Lt. Colonel (Retd.) Dr. GPS Waraich, the then Principal of DPS, Mathura Road, New Delhi. Sh. Dharamvira, President of the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi and Col. Sadhu Singh who were first President and Secretary respectively of the Delhi Public School Ghaziabad Society. The DPSG Society is currently chaired by Mr. Om Pathak.

    DPSG Sushant Lok organized various sessions on “Public Health Response to COVID-19 Appropriate Behavior” for the students, parents and teachers to create awareness on the appropriate behaviour during COVID-19.  A Power Point Presentation was shown to all stake holders to highlight the campaign of the government to defeat the pandemic, besides sharing the precautionary measures to be taken to safeguard oneself from the pandemic. The aim of this campaign was to create awareness among the students and parents to inculcate the practice of social and physical distancing, to wear fabric masks in crowded places covering the nose, mouth and chin,  to avoid moving out of the house unnecessarily, to keep the rooms well ventilated, to wash  hands religiously after every activity and protect themselves from the deadly virus, creating awareness regarding this in their families and society. The relevance of having nutritious food, hot water and intake of vitamin C was discussed at large. Students became familiar with the most common symptoms of COVID 19 of having fever, dry cough and tiredness, which could be treated by putting oneself in home quarantine for 14 days.  People showing the symptoms of difficulty in breathing, shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure, loss of speech or movement should immediately seek medical attention and get tested for COVID 19. Students got to know about the Aarogya Sethu App and Ayush Mobile Application which has been developed by the Government of India to provide essential health services to the people of India to fight against COVID-19.

The honorable chief guests for the event were Ms. Olga Lee and Ms. Jisu Kim.  Paint Your Picture, My Peace Stamp, Kuch Iss Andaz Mein, Nukkad Natak, and Tell-A-Tale competitions were organised based on the topic "Peace-the only solution."  Numerous schools participated in the event with great enthusiasm and zeal. The paintings were beautifully designed, the stories were well-written and well-coordinated with the picture board presentations. The Nukkad Natak plays were remarkably performed. Our students made the school proud by bringing laurels to the school.
