PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES (PLCs)

“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”
Here in DPSG, SL, not only the students but the teachers are also committed to learning. Learning is a life-long process. Keeping the view in mind, Professional Learning Community was formed under the vision of our Chairman Mr. Om Pathak. PLC is a platform created for the teachers, by the teachers and of the teachers. Continuous trainings, Expert advice and workshops are some of the key elements of this community. Teachers across all DPSG schools are a part of this program and share their experiences and knowledge with each other. Regular online meetings help the teachers stay connected, share the resources and outcomes and plan their unit of inquiries as per the need of their learners. PLCs organize the teachers into working groups of practice-based professional learning. Each PLC group comprises of a coordinator, moderator and an anchor that manage and schedule the agendas of the meetings. Creation of a shared vision involves diverse ideas so that all members are satisfied. The PLC aims to be a reflective process where both individual and community growth is achieved, connected with the school’s shared vision of learning. Through this commitment and creation of a shared vision the team may become empowered to work together and achieve goals.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (PLDP)

“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.”
- Brian Herbert
A twelve day PLDP Program for the teachers across all DPSG schools was initiated by our Chairman Mr. Om Pathak to engage and stimulate the thinking and professional knowledge of the teachers. The training module was designed by the Chairman, Principals, HMs, Coordinators and HODs of all the branches of the DPSG Society. The training included the Learner’s Profile, Inquiry-Based Leaning, and Resources for effective teaching and Designing of Formative and Summative assessments. All these documents were created by the team of principals, HMs and coordinators and shared with the teachers to enhance their professional skills. This rigorous training program enabled the teachers to develop the knowledge and skills they need to address the students’ learning challenges.
PLDP gave the teachers a chance to reinforce their existing skills. It allowed the teachers to build on their interaction skills and learn strategies for helping the pupils to achieve their full potential.
