Vocal and Instrumental

As it is well said, ‘Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything’.

Music is known to have phenomenal benefits to the human brain. It acts as a stress buster and a stimulant to the children. It also encourages them to think ‘out-of-the-box’. DPSG Sushant Lok believes in discovering, unfolding and nurturing the hidden talent of the children in the field of Music, vocal as well as instrumental. Students have been regularly participating in various Inter-school competitions and have brought accolades to the school.

The Music training is primarily bifurcated into 2 domains: Vocal and Instrumental.

Vocal:

In vocal training, the students are taught various techniques and exercises for improving their vocals. It is further divided into Indian Vocals and Western Vocals. Students hone their skills by participating in different solo singing, group singing and school band competitions.

Instrumental:

In Instrumental music, students are given specific training pertaining to different musical instruments. It is further divided into two main categories viz. Indian and Western Instruments. DPSG provides specialized training in Indian Instruments like Tanpura, Tabla, Dholak and Harmonium and Western Instruments like Guitar (Acoustic, Electric and Bass), Keyboard, Congo, Cajon and Drums.

Dance

It is rightly said, ‘Dancers don’t need wings to fly’.

Through Dance, students learn teamwork, focus, mindfulness and improvisational skills. It plays an instrumental role in holistic development of a child at every stage. It awakens new perceptions in children which help them learn and think in creative and innovative ways. DPSG Sushant Lok believes in cultivating the skill of communication through expression and imagination. Students get to participate in various solo and group dance competitions held at Inter-house and Inter-school level which boosts their self-confidence and improves stage temperament.
