The morning assembly was conducted by Class 11 A on “International Red Cross Society Day”. The assembly started with the invocation of blessings from the Almighty followed by the thought of the day, National and International news and weather updates. A presentation on “International Red Cross Society” was showcased by the students to highlight the importance of Red Cross Society in service of mankind.
Mr. Trilok Singh Bist, the Principal of the school addressed the students and urged them to develop soft skills and serve the society selflessly.
Class 12-E conducted the morning assembly on the topic ‘The Army Behind The Army.’ The students talked about the martyrs who laid down their lives for the safety of the country, as well as the exceptional courage displayed by their family members, focusing on heroes like Vikram Batra and Saurabh Kalia, along with the events of the URI attack and the Pulwama tragedy. A panel discussion was organized by the students of class 10, where they deliberated on the role of media in our life. The Principal concluded the assembly on an inspiring note by urging students to choose unconventional careers and achieving the goals they set for themselves.
DPSGV organized a Career Counseling session for students of Class 11 & 12 in the School Auditorium on 26th September, 2018. Career decisions play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth and development of students. In today’s environment of multiple options, knowing about choices helps the youngsters to move ahead.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Charushilla Narula Bajpai, Founder Director & Key Mentor for University Connection; which draws upon vast experience and research to offer comprehensive services to students and schools regarding decision making for the future. Ms. Charushilla is a prolific educator who has been associated with counseling and guidance for the past 15 years.
She shared information regarding leading Universities and various courses available. She urged the students not to make decisions based on family expectations and peer pressure rather she emphasized on certain vital points which would help the students to face challenges in their life. She said, ‘Whatever you do / aim at, should be Solution Oriented with Right Attitude and Resources and also Interest.’
She also reiterated on the Three Basic steps to choose a career namely- Communication, Research and Critical Thinking. She concluded by a quote, ‘Climb mountains not so that the world can see you, but so that you can see the world,’ which was a food for thought for the audience.

Besides academic excellence, DPSGV is committed to nurture the citizens who are healthy, harmonious, humane, considerate and sensitive to one another. With these objectives in perspective, the school organized a special session to sensitize children about Bullying for classes 9-12. The senior school counselling team took the session by asking students to share their experiences on bullying. They informed the children about the nefarious practice of bullying, its various forms such as physical, mental, emotional, cyber and momo-bullying. They elaborated momo-bullying and told children how their online activities leave cyber footprints which a hacker can track to victimize them. The team shared various effective strategies on how to stay safe from various forms of cyber-bullying and join hands to fight against it.
Dr. Jaishree Bharagava, the Principal of the school advised the students to stay away from bullying and extend support to the one who is being bullied. The session ended with a pledge to combat bullying
We, at DPSGV, have always encouraged our students to get a taste of diverse cultures, languages, attitudes, ways of living and different approaches to learning across disciplines and life in general. The delivery of the same is promised by global exchange programmes by reputed universities. On same line we had a formal interaction with international admissions counsellor of Western New England University, Ms Marija Ward.
The session was unique and enriching for our students.
The principal Ms. Jaishree Bhargava, enlightened the students on global citizenship where she explained Education for global citizenship is not an additional subject - it's a framework for learning, reaching beyond school to the wider community. It can be promoted in class through the existing curriculum or through new initiatives and activities.
CLASS 12 ASSEMBLY
A special Morning Assembly on World Ranger’s Day was conducted by the students of senior classes (Class XIIB). It started with the morning prayer, followed by a thought of the day and daily news update. A PowerPoint presentation along with an informative video on the life and duties of the Rangers left the children enthralled. The Headmistress addressed the students and applauded their efforts.
CHARTING THE CAREER PATH - THE COUNSELLING SESSION FOR CLASS 12
The scientific and technological developments have changed the socio-economic structure of the world. This has led to immense career opportunities. We, therefore, need to plan the careers of our children as per their abilities and capabilities from the very early stages of education. Keeping these objectives in mind, DPSGV organized a career counselling workshop titled Charting the Career Path for the students of class XII. DPSG Meerut Road, DPSG International, Sun Valley International, Maharaja Agrasen, DLF Public School, Dehradoon Public School and several other schools from the neighbourhood attended the workshop.
Mr. Jatin Chawla, a noted career counseller shared a host of career opportunities available for the students right after class XII. He satisfied the queries of the students related to the vocational courses available in various colleges of Delhi University.
Dr. Aruna Broota, a renowned Clinical Psychologist guided children on how to manage time effectively and develop concentration and interest in studies to optimize academic performance.
DPSGV organized a special assembly on World Chocolate Day wherein the parents were also invited. It started with the Invocation Dance to seek the blessings of Lord Krishna. The children presented a self-scripted skit which showcased various chocolate brands available in the market. A Power Point presentation and video on the origin and popularity of the chocolates was very informative.
The parents shared their experiences about the chocolate. Dr. Jaishree Bhargava, The Principal of the school advised the children to eat chocolates moderately. She also exhorted students to develop research skills as they are very important in their life.
