“Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. It’s about harnessing imagination, empowerment, and creativity.”
Kitchen Activities are full of opportunities for learning. It combines creative thinking, science and social skills. As a part of the curriculum, KG class students of DPSGV made tasty sandwiches in the shape of different means of transport; like boat, aeroplane, car, truck etc. The tiny tots enjoyed spreading the cheese and butter on the slices and were confident about teaching the same to their mothers. The students surprised us with their innovative ideas while they tried out making different sandwiches. They enthusiastically participated in making yummy sandwiches -Sandwiches on the Move, using a variety of healthy and nutritive ingredients. They had fun making their own sandwiches and eating them too. In this process the children gained a deeper understanding of eating and learning how to prepare healthy food.

The spirit of freedom and nationalism was well exhibited virtually by the tiny tots as well as the teachers through a spectrum of patriotic poems, songs, videos and dance. The DPSGV STARZ looked vibrant in the tri-colour attire, accessories and the way they had beautifully painted the Indian flag on their face and hands. Students also took a pledge of keeping their country -INDIA neat and clean. The kids presented their Dream India posters and shared their views about the same. Indeed, it was a day of elation, a day of love and respect for the country, instilling in the STARZ the value and reverence for the gift of freedom by the great leaders of the country.

The actions of a great man are an inspiration for others. Whatever he does becomes a standard for others to follow.

-The Bhagavad Gita

Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. Janmashtami was celebrated by ECCE STARZ on 10th August with mirth and joy. A virtual special assembly by class l Daisy was conducted too. The children recited poems and shared their views about Janmashtami. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha looked beautiful with flutes, peacock feathers and matkas. The festival was celebrated virtually with great pomp and festivity by the tiny - tots of pre-primary. Dressed as Radha and Krishna, the cute little ones added a traditional touch to the entire celebrations when they recited the Bhagwat Gita shlokas and danced to the beat of Janmashtami songs, filling the air with joy and festive spirit.

A gamut of emotions were abound when DPSGV hosted its first ever virtual Investiture Ceremony 2020-21. Contrary to the presumption that we may falter, the students displayed their showmanship even when constrained in their houses.

The event got its boost with the gracious presence of visionaries with the likes of Vice-Chairman and Treasurer, DPSG Society, Mr Anshul Pathak, who benignly consented to be the chief guest. Not only did sir motivate the newly elected council, but also reiterated that this pandemic is going to leave us wiser than before. In the same league, motivational speaker, Mr Vickrant Mahajan guided the young leaders to make this world a better place by participating and just being in the moment.

The office bearers were overwhelmed and could breathe a sigh of relief after a long-drawn selection process left them with great contentment having wading their way to the top notch positions over the others.

The Principal, Mr Trilok Singh Bist congratulated them, but with a word of caution that the laurels can be rested upon just for a day, after which there is a long road ahead.

The very sauve Headboy, Sukrit Anshuman, the chirpy Head girl - Gayathri Pillai, the confident Deputy Headboy - Dhruv Banerjee and the demure Deputy Headgirl - Riya Berry carved a niche for themselves expressing their vision for their school.

The day culminated with appreciation, applause and starry dreams with the Headmistress, senior wing, Ms Ritu Sehgal, rendering a vote of thanks to all the guests and a special mention to the parent fraternity who has been supporting the school thro' thick and thin.

The parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude that the school went out of the way to deliver the badges door-to-door to the parents so that they get to pin it to their wards and be a part of the whole ceremony.

All in a day which was quite eventful...
