3 BENEFITS OF VIRTUAL/3D LABS

BY ADMIN PUBLISHED February 16, 2018, UPDATED January 20, 2023

With technology and education going hand in hand, it seems everything is possible. Learning has become even more fun than before. Students are more inclined to learn and grasp knowledge with the interesting mode of teaching.

Classroom technology has evolved rapidly. Implementation of the technology in the classroom has gone beyond Google search. It has especially stretched into the areas of learning, and science has become more of an interesting subject than ever before.

With 3D laboratories in the schools, learning complex lessons has never been this easy.

Here are some benefits of having 3D labs in the school, and how does it help students.

  • Easy access

One of the most cited benefits of having 3D labs in the school is that the students have the access at their own convenience to learn the subject topic in the simplest way possible. Virtual/3D labs allow flexibility for the teacher to teach students using practical examples and also helps them un-complicate lessons for the students within a strict timeframe (teachers have limited time to teach the class!)

  • Quick feedback

With a movie-like environment for the class, students are more open to seeking their curiosity. It creates a space where students get into thinking mode. That way students can always communicate with the teachers and get their questions answered well.

  • Cost efficient

There is a fee associated with using virtual labs but the capital and maintenance costs are drastically reduced. Instead of one school footing the bill for resources, the cost is split among the clients of the particular virtual lab. This allows the school to provide a better learning experience for students at a fraction of the cost.

Like all classroom technology, virtual/3D labs need to be scrutinized to ensure that behind the flashy capabilities, their true purpose is being met. That will take some time and testing, of course, but with the right combination of in-person and remote lessons.

Do you use a virtual lab in your classroom? What do you think about its potential for learning?
