Is Our Generation More Self-Centered Than The Previous?

In a recent survey, a psychologist has labeled the current generation of young people as “I generation” or “Me Generation”. It is also found that the today’s generation takes it for granted that “SELF” comes first.
This is an era of narcissism. Today’s people think of their own needs and interest. They ignore the needs of others and do what so ever they want to do. The current generation is one of the most narcissistic, competitive, confident and individualistic in recent history.
This growing emphasis on the self is accompanied by the corresponding devaluing of others.
Majority of young generation thinks that they are superior but they really are inferiors. They forget human values, forget how to respect parents or any elder per say. It seems to them that they bear extraordinary pressure regarding their education, parental and teachers, political opinion, job, career, to name a few.

So, this all makes an individual alone and he thinks that all the pressure is beard by himself alone so why to share the fruit of his challenging work with others.
This makes a person egoistic and self-centered.
Increase in self-center-ness can be attributed to increases in exposure ‘to and use’ of media. Such an increase in exposure to social networking sites, violent video games, and perhaps films are some common causes of increase in aggressive behavior and rudeness. These services by their nature promote a culture of self-importance. They think that whatever they do/say/think is always right and no one can prove them wrong. If someone underestimates them or argue with them despite being older or younger, they come up with a revenge.
In the eyes of God, all human beings are equal.
God has given such qualities to human beings through which an individual can do better to the society. Thousands of years back, thousands of great people sacrificed their lives for mankind.
Now it is the time for a younger generation to work for the betterment of mankind and society through which they can enjoy success in their life and life after death.
