India’s diversity is reflected in its languages, traditions, festivals, cuisines, art forms and ways of life. Every region carries its own stories and perspectives, yet together they form the larger story of India. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) celebrates this diversity by creating opportunities for people to connect, understand and appreciate one another. Launched by the Government of India on Ekta Diwas, 31st October 2015, the initiative seeks to strengthen national integration through meaningful and sustained interaction among States and Union Territories.
EBSB brings cultural understanding into everyday learning through language, literature, music, traditions, food, tourism, sports and other shared experiences. At DPS Vasundhara, this philosophy is closely aligned with our commitment to making education experiential and joyful. Our approach to learning goes beyond preparing students for examinations; it seeks to equip them with the curiosity, confidence and understanding they need to navigate life.
At DPSG Vasundhara, we believe that some of the most enduring lessons are learnt when students step outside familiar surroundings and experience the world first-hand. Educational journeys provide this opportunity precisely. They allow learners to encounter different communities, landscapes, customs and perspectives, transforming travel into an extension of the classroom.
Through the Educational Experiential Learning Journey for students of Grades 6 to 12, learners get an opportunity to explore different parts of the country and engage with India’s diversity beyond textbooks. A historical monument can bring a chapter of history alive; changing landscapes can make geography tangible; conversations can introduce students to languages and dialects; and local food, art and traditions can offer insights into the everyday life of communities.
Such experiences encourage students to observe closely, ask questions, adapt to unfamiliar environments and engage respectfully with perspectives different from their own. More importantly, they help nurture empathy and a sense of belonging that comes from understanding the many ways in which India is lived and experienced.
EBSB becomes a bridge between knowledge and lived experience. It connects what students learn with the people, places and cultures that make India what it is. The campaign reinforces an important idea: India’s unity is strengthened by its diversity, and understanding our differences creates stronger connections between us.
At DPSG Vasundhara, we see every journey as an opportunity to expand a child’s world beyond the familiar. Through the Educational Experiential Learning Journey, India becomes more than a subject to be studied, it becomes a living classroom, filled with stories, experiences and perspectives waiting to be discovered.
