From Experiences to Expressions: Bringing the EBSB Journey to Life

The students are back from their Educational Experiential Learning Journey, but the learning does not end with their return. Over eight days, they travelled beyond the familiar, observed new ways of life, explored India’s rich heritage and discovered how much there is to learn when a country becomes the classroom. Now, it is time to bring those experiences back into the school and give them a new form.
At DPSG Vasundhara, the journey continues through conversations, reflections and creative exploration. Students revisit the moments that stayed with them, look back at their observations and connect them with the ten learning lenses through which they experienced the journey. A monument becomes more than architecture; a traditional practice opens a conversation about sustainability; a local craft reveals stories of livelihoods and culture. Gradually, individual experiences begin coming together to form a larger understanding of India.
The next phase will see students turn these reflections into presentations, videos, models, visual displays and other creative projects. Each group will decide how best to communicate what they discovered during the eight days. Some ideas may find expression through a model, others through a film or presentation, while some may take shape through an engaging visual narrative. What makes this process particularly valuable is the opportunity to learn from one another. As students work together, they exchange memories, compare observations and discover perspectives they may have missed during the journey. They learn to research, organise information, divide responsibilities, make creative choices and communicate their ideas with clarity.
In doing so, students move beyond simply remembering what they saw. They begin to interpret it, question it and share what it meant to them. Their creations become a reflection of both the journey they undertook and the learning they brought back. The culmination will offer the wider school community a chance to experience the journey through the students’ eyes. Their presentations and projects will bring alive the people, places, traditions and ideas they encountered, while showing how an experience can continue to grow long after it has ended.
At DPSG Vasundhara, the EBSB journey therefore finds its true culmination not in returning home, but in turning experiences into understanding, and understanding into something worth sharing.
