Man is a Social Animal!

BY ADMIN PUBLISHED August 26, 2022, UPDATED January 20, 2023

A few months ago, we had been given a few topics for our English summer assignment by our teacher, Mrs.Preeti. One of which topics was ‘Man is a social animal’, which I chose to research on. I would like to share a piece of my research with you all through this article.

Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, Man is a social animal. The statement hasn’t changed much in the present context. In fact, it proves to be even truer now! The reason behind it is the highly increased social life of human beings. We have drastically evolved in terms of our social life through mobile phones, photo sharing apps, social media, video calls etc. With cities building up, we have started living closer. Thereby, increasing everyday social interactions with our neighbors. With the invention of phones, we can easily communicate with any one, be it next door or across the globe. The present situation of the world due to Covid-19 has turned the tables upside down. But we social animals have made sure to keep up with our social life digitally. We have started hanging out through zoom, whatsapp video calls etc., Indian colorful and opulent marriages which were quiet a big affair have reduced down to online zoom meetings with 10-15 people. Classrooms with 50-60 children, have been empty for more than six months now, one can hear the sound of a pin dropping in places where there once were big concerts held. Since, we are all social animals, it is tough for us to confide within these walls of our homes and not step out. But we are the most intelligent creatures and capable of understanding that stepping out can be extremely dangerous for our family and ourselves. Let’s remain positive and look for the good in things but also not be ignorant to the reality simultaneously. To conclude, we must all remain safe, happy and social!
