4 Fun Activities For Students To Maintain Their Focus On Studies During Pandemic

BY ADMIN PUBLISHED June 16, 2021, UPDATED December 12, 2023

Pandemic has come in as the most testing time for our kids, and they were bound to leave most of their habits and routine to incorporate the new terms of normal living. It didn’t come in easy for kids to take up to online classes and leave the physical interactions with their friends and teachers. Kids are one of the most active physical and social beings, and this pandemic took away the most substantial part of their growing personality. Second-year of lockdown and online classes in a row, these kids are gradually losing the interest and plot of keeping up with the changing dynamics of education.

Teachers and guardians have observed the kids easily losing the focus and concentration in the subjects in hand and are often found peeping in various directions. With too much pressure of online interaction, teachers are finding fun ways of maintaining the focus of students on studies during the unprecedented times of the pandemic. Let’s see some of the fun activities that can be tried with students to maintain their focus on their studies.

  • Make A List Of Goals: At the start of any session, assignments or class, ask the child to create a list of goals to give the child a direction. Once the child lists the goals, they will achieve them will much rigour, and these goals will allow your child to refresh his or her brain before tackling a new one.
  • Beat The Clock: With this activity, you need to set a predetermined amount of time for the students to get the task done. When they see that they are near the end of their focus period, they will try to push through until the very end. The task could be a worksheet or a single problem. This will induce them to work within time limits and keep their focus on the task at hand only. Make sure that the tasks you are assigning are taking the entire time limit to complete. This will keep them engrossed and focussed for the entire length of time.
  • Use Puzzles: Puzzles are a great way to keep kids thinking. As puzzles are more like fun activities, kids enjoy while doing them. While discovering the solutions, they don’t feel like they are learning something. Puzzles can be a great way for kids to take a break between classes without losing their focus. These puzzles will also help them keep up their concentration and help them refresh.
  • Memory Games: Memory games are a great resource of keeping up the concentration and focus of students on studies during the pandemic. Memory games engage the student’s mind in a fun manner without noticing how intently they are focusing, keeping them interested and concentrated even longer. As they improve their memory through games, they can apply these ideas and processes to study. With a better memory, studying will be easier, and they will see more benefit from their time spent hitting the books.
