Achievements in Football

League Football Tournament 2022 held at Maharishi University in Noida.

Kudos to Nisha Trehan of Grade X, Vidhi Ratan and Nandini Tyagi, budding footballers of grade XI who were awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ trophy in the League Football Tournament held at Maharishi University in Noida. The DPSGMR Girls’ Football Team stamped a clear victory over The Cambridge school team and Vidhi and Nandini were appreciated for their outstanding feat.

District Football Championship 2022 Under 14 Boys

DPSGMR team bagged the Winners Trophy in the District Football Championship  (U-14 Boys) held at Bloom World School, Ghaziabad thereby defeating the opponent team, Allen House Public School Ghaziabad. Chetan Rawat was declared the Best Goal Keeper; Abhinav Rana was adjudged the Best Defender of the tournament. The event was organized by District Soccer Association, Ghaziabad.

CBSE North Zone I Girls’ Football Championship 2019

CBSE North Zone I Girls’ Football Championship 2019 was held at  Bright Start International 

Academy, Kashipur from October 14 to October 18, 2019. 

The following students brought laurels to the school- 

Vidhi Ratan, VIII B bagged the Player of the Match medal in round 1.

In round 2,  Player of the Match medal was won by Yashaswi Jindal, VIII H.

Best Goal of the Tournament award was bagged by Vanshika Singh, X-C.

DANA CUP

DPSG Girls Football team bagged the first position in III Interschool Football tournament 2018. The event was held at DPSGI Dasna. 

Basketball

Basketball  is another exciting sport in the diverse listicle of sports  offered  in Delhi Public School Ghaziabad. It is a sport of precision, discipline, accuracy, control and speed .Eyes turn to the player with the ball, who sprints towards the basket. As the ball cuts through the air and makes its way towards its ultimate goal, everyone stares with utmost exhilarated uncertainty. And when the ball rolls on the hoop and falls in it, the crowd breaks into a loud cheer.  Such is the excitement of this sport. The school has several basketball courts where young aspiring Michael Jordans are given vigorous and scrupulous training is given by specialized coaches.

U17 Youth District Basketball Championship 2022

Delhi Public School Ghaziabad U-17(Girls) teams made their school proud by bagging the Runners up trophy in the U17 Girls categories in the Youth District Basketball Championship 2022 held at Deep Memorial Public School from 11 – 14 June, 2022.

Delhi Public School Ghaziabad U-14(Boys and Girls) teams made their school proud by bagging the Runners up trophy in their respective categories in the District Basketball Championship 2022 held at New Era School from 6 – 8 May, 2022.

8th Challenge Cup Interschool Basketball Tournament was held at DPSG, wherein the boys’ team was declared the 1st Runner up and the Girls’ team was declared the 2nd Runner up.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Sarvagya Srivastav, Ojas, VI; Vaaman Dev Mittal, VIII (Category  U-12) won the Second position in 3 on 3 Basketball tournament held at DPS Raj Nagar Extension on November 4, 2018. 

In yet another event of 3 on 3 Basketball tournament held at DPS Raj Nagar Extension, Aaditya Kumar Vaibhav and Prithvi Singh, IX bagged the first position. (Category U-15)

Tennis

Our team of competent and talented tennis coaches, along with highly trained and qualified fitness trainers, introduce their students to the exciting potential that tennis offers in promoting lifelong physical activity and participation in sport. The well-maintained clay courts and developmentally appropriate equipment provided by school facilitate a developmental approach to teaching tennis related skills and also allow flexibility in order to accommodate large or small groups.

This game has continued to grow and is today considered as one of the most popular sports in the world. And the benefits of the game are truly endless. The huge basketball courts remain abuzz with activity throughout the year and coaches have been appointed to impart training and help students excel at different levels of competitions. The school encourages the students and provides them with opportunities to participate in different interschool competitions at national and international levels. 

 Shooting

With a lot of careful and meticulous planning Delhi Public School Ghaziabad launched the shooting academy with state-of-the-art infrastructure in shooting with the aim to identify, nurture and promote players using the best possible resources and platform. The school’s powerful support and guidance helped Devanshi Dhama realise her dream and reach for the stars and carve a niche for herself in the International events. UPSSCC Championship organized by UP State Rifle Association

Shubham Arora a student of class XI has won a bronze medal in 10m Air Pistol UPSSCC Championship organized by UP State Rifle Association. He will be participating in the Pre Nationals in Ahmedabad.

44th UPSSCC Standard Pistol Championship (Junior men Individual ) organized by The National Rifle Association of India

Yuvraj Chaudhary, an ace shooter and a student of class XI made his alma mater proud by winning 2 gold medals  and 1 bronze medal in 44th UPSSCC Standard Pistol Championship (Junior men Individual ) organized by The National Rifle Association of India. 

Further adding to his accolades, he also secured 16th position in the 63rd National Shooting Championship (NSCC) in small Bore Rifle & Pistol events. Thereafter he was selected for Khelo India.

44th Uttar Pradesh State Shooting Championship 2021

Arjun Tyagi, a student of 6B has made us proud by qualifying in under 11 Pre National Championship for 10M Air pistol shooting.

This 44th Uttar Pradesh State Shooting Championship 2021 was organised in Lucknow. Arnav was felicitated in Gram Sihani by state level shooters. Arjun is scheduled to participate in Pre National Shooting Championship which is being hosted in Gujarat.

Devanshi Dhama, the young shooter has carved a niche for herself in the field of Shooting  and proved that having potential is not an endpoint but a capacity to grow and learn. She has participated in several shooting events, state, national and international levels, and has several awards and trophies to her credit. They are -

International Accolades

The ISSF Junior World Cup was held  in Suhl, Germany, where 761 junior shooters gathered and competed in 22 Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun events — both individual and team.

Devanshi Dhama, the young shooter won individual as well as team honours in the 50 m Junior Free Women’s Pistol event.  

She was the proud recipient of a gold medal in the team event with a score of 1565/1800.  In the Individual event, Devanshi bagged one bronze medal with a score of   527 out of 600.

Table Tennis

As well as being a fantastic physical workout, table tennis is also a great mental workout. You have to plan strategies and decisions have to be made in split seconds. A huge indoor sports complex has been set up for training the students in Table Tennis wherein the dedicated coaches work towards constructing an environment which not only initiates a player’s passion but also motivates him/her to nurture their sports abilities. We truly aim to touch skies in our respective sport.

69th UP State Table Tennis Championship 2022

Proving his mettle in the UP State Table Tennis Championship 2022, Aranis Bana of grade 10 K emerged as the winner by securing the first rank in Uttar Pradesh. (Category – Boys Junior)

Chess

Chess is an engaging game of the creative mind, it is a game of conquest, conflict and competitive skill. “In chess there no place for anger, it’s all about calmness." The school has adequate number of chess boards to satisfy the playing instinct of the geniuses and highly trained coaches who teach the benefits of observing carefully and concentrating, prompting the players to imagine a sequence of actions before they happen. This way they actually strengthen the ability to visualize by training the players to move the pieces in their mind even several moves ahead. The active support and guidance of coaches helped Master Prince make his presence felt at the International Chess Championships and win accolades.

3rd Perados Chess Event 2022

Open Chess Carnival 2022 Organised by JKG International

J K G International School organised Open Chess Carnival 2022 where the students of DPSG through perfect strategy won positions in various categories. The school is proud of the superb performance of the future GRAND MASTERS.

Saumya Tyagi,  VIII B won the first prize in U-19 category in 2nd Ranking Chess Championship. The event was organized by Ghaziabad District Chess Association on 30th  April, 2017.

Skating

8th RSFI U.P. State Skating Championship 2022

Tejall Puniani of class 9-D won four gold medals at the 8th RSFI U.P. State Championship (Staking) held at Greno Speed Skating Club in Greater Noida from October 27 to 30. She has qualified for the National Championship to be held in Bangalore in December 2022.

8th UP State Roller Skating Championship 2022

Harshvardhan Sharma of grade 12  won  One Silver and 3 Bronze medals in the 8th UP State Roller Skating Championship (Above-17 Yrs category ). He represented Ghaziabad district in this  qualifying  tournament for Skating Nationals (RSFI).

All India Roller Skating National Championship was held at Chandigarh wherein the following students brought laurels to the school

Avdaat,  VII F bagged a gold medal in the  Inline 500 m long race (Class U/12)

Chaitanya Dhuper, IX D also bagged a gold medal in the Inline 500 m long race (Class U/14)

Tarang Gupta, VIIG  won a bronze medal in the Inline 500 m long race ( Class U/12)
