‘DPSG Cup’ to launch ‘Biggest School Sports Celebration’ for ‘talented youth’ in Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad & Dehradun

- ‘Biggest School Sports Celebration’ comes to Ghaziabad, Dehradun, Gurugram & Faridabad in April.
- ‘DPSG Cup’ will be held for ‘Five Championships’ in each district, in Cricket, Football & Basketball.
- ‘Cup’ will be conducted at ‘stunning venues’ located in DPSG Schools.
- Attractive prizes shall be given to winners in both individual & team categories.
- A prize cheque of Rs 1.25 Lakh will be presented to the ‘Best Coaches’ in each district.
- Registration for DPSG Cup has already begun.
It is said, ‘future champions are waiting to be nurtured in the schools’, and the ‘DPSG Cup’ which is being announced today, aims to launch a path-breaking platform for promotion of youth talent in schools.
The ‘DPSG Cup’, billed as the “country’s biggest school sports celebration”, will be launched in April 2023 in four rapidly-transforming districts – Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Dehradun and Faridabad. These centres are perceived as ‘boomtowns’ not just for supplying goods and services for the country, but also for producing some exciting sports icons and achievers in recent years.
The inaugural DPSG Cup will be held initially in the following sports – cricket (boys), football, and basketball (both boys & girls) in these four districts. Eighteen tournaments will roll out simultaneously in Ghaziabad, Gurguram, Dehradun and Faridabad, offering non-stop sizzling action and attractive prize bonanza to the winners in both team and individual categories in the DPSG Cup for all 18 tournaments. The ‘Best Coach’ in each tournament will be presented a prize purse of Rs 25,000/. The DPSG Cup matches is expected to reach thousands of viewers through LIVE streaming on seven social media platforms of DPSG schools.
On this occasion, DPSG Ghaziabad, Meerut Road, Principal, Ms Sangeeta-Roy-Mukherjee said, “I am thrilled to share that DPSG Ghaziabad Schools will be hosting the DPSG Cup, which is a path-breaking initiative for students. DPSG Ghaziabad, Meerut Road will be hosting the DPSG Cup for Cricket and Football (boys). The venues are getting primed and polished, and I am excited to meet and welcome the participants.”
On this occasion, DPSG Vasundhara, Head of School, Ms Ritu Sehgal said, “It will be an honour and privilege for DPSG Vasundhara to host the DPSG Cup for Basketball (girls). We at DPSG Vasundhara have always batted for the overall development of the child. Once the examinations get over, we will roll out the red carpet for the students for DPSG Cup.
