DPSG Meerut Road Organizes PYP Exhibition: A Step Towards Life-Long Learning of Students
BY ADMIN PUBLISHED February 2, 2023, UPDATED March 14, 2023
One should never limit the process of learning to books because the greatest learning often comes from the outside world. DPSG believes in the holistic development of its students and it is in tandem with PYP, that believes that learning is lifelong, we bring to you the PYPX 2022 with Sustainability at its core.
Understanding PYP Exhibition
Through the PYP Exhibition, students showcase a journey of the seven PYP years through the skills and competencies they have developed enroute with the Learner Profiles that becomes a part of their individual selves. As any other inquiry, current challenges and issues are selected to delve into. Through this journey, they frame the problem question, dig deeper into its relevance with their own context, and try to collaborate and find means to solve the challenges at individual levels. The Exhibition provides multiple opportunities to each learner to present their thoughts or understanding of a real-life issue and suggest ways of taking action. It is hands down one of the best ways to help students reflect on their learning.
PYP believes in promoting agency whereby learners take ownership of their own learning. The PYPX is thus a platform where the learners get to showcase their learning journeys and share how they plan to remain connected with the inquiries and take concrete action and make more mindful choices for a more sustainable future. Since the exhibition is the last stage of the IB Primary Years Programs , students share and exchange their final takeaways and are encouraged to document their understanding that is showcased in the school website after the final day of the Exhibition. This year, what the learners felt worth inquiring about are the 17 SDGs under the inquiry ‘Sharing the Planet’. Under the theme, learners will delve deeper into how individual actions can bring about a change in the world we live in under the broad 3Es and H namely, Environment, Economy, Equality and Health and well-being.

Our PYP Journey
The journey started with an in-house survey by the G5 PYP learners followed by a rally for the primary school wherein the learners took an understanding from the juniors as to what they understood about SDGs and also suggested ways of making school resources sustainable through judicious and mindful usage. The learners have been relentlessly working around the inquiry with their mentor teachers and encouraging their community to take small but valuable steps.
Our SDGs Knights

Some of the learners whose work needs mention here are, Yuvraaj Agarwal from 5D who is an SDG Knight and is working on finding alternative power solutions that are gentle on nature and do not harm the environment. Another knight, Janvi Yadav from 5F is working on a self-composed RAP song in order to create awareness on sustainability and environmental goals.
Arsh Sharma and Vrishti Aggarwal believe that we humans must take more steps to combat global warming, like adopting clean and affordable energy to deal with such global challenges. Learners are working on all the goals including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation and peace and justice.
Our little knights are leaving no stones unturned to find workable solutions of sustainability through the PYP Exhibition, and we feel proud of them. The holistic design of this exhibition is undoubtedly motivating, enriching and acts as an enabler for the students to become life-long learners and seek epitome of knowledge in all aspects.
